The past few weeks I have been working on a World War I / World War II concept, and I'm fairly happy with the results!
It started as a simple photo editing and touch-up project with Greg and wound up being a large scale dieselpunk themed photomanipulation project. Thinking the project would have more focus on the full scale war planning scene we set up, I set out to think up a clever background to set the scene, and instead I came up with the goggles reflection idea and had Greg shoot some simple head-shots in our military-themed outfits. I didn't know how well the simple idea would turn out, so we shot a myriad of other scene set ups. However, the simple headshot photomanipulations turned out exactly how I imagined, and I'm pretty proud of my work.
There is so much detail I put in the scene and such a stark difference from the original, I decided to post this behind the scenes image on my art profile.
A concept I've been working on for a while. Since I'm a terrible photographer and don't have the right equipment it became a collaboration project with a photographer friend of mine. I wanted to portray an idea of an alternative history based on reality looking back on the past: Dieselpunk WWII reflecting on the Steampunk WWI scene with all the guns facing center.... leaving the story up for interpretation...

The planes flying in the background were made by me in Adobe Illustrator with motion effects done in Adobe Photoshop. All the rest is highly filtered and manipulated photographs edited in Photoshop.
Thanks to Greg Badger for taking the pictures I had envisioned!
Hope you like!
